All the talk on here about this being the year for the Iowa NC - gone!

All the talk about going undefeated - gone!

All the talk about the only tough game this year being tOSU - gone!

The game is always played on the field, not on an internet board. Since you know soooo much about football, I expect Ferentz to resign Monday so one of you can take over and salvage the season.

Arizona looked like a pretty good team. You can't just spot'em 14 points off the bat and then expect them to roll over. Iowa will beat Ball State, but perhaps a tougher then expected Big Ten schedule awaits. You thought Mich. was going to be a pushover but I sure hope Denard doesn't run all over us. Northwestern has cracked the code on how to beat Iowa and tOSU has the jinx on their side.

The meltdown here is humorous, thank goodness KF will stay calm and get things fixed. Sometimes an Iowa team learns more after a tough loss (and makes corrections) then getting a win.

The sky didn't fall, the sun still came up this morning. The AZ game brought some reality back into the Iowa squad, time for the rest of you to get real, too. Look, we're all disappointed, it was a BIG game on a national stage. It took the wind out of the sails but no doubt a KF team will always have the heart to persevere, improve and will make us all very proud at the end of the year

Jon, as you know, somebody hijacked my screen name and was posting all sorts of crazy things about taking a swing at some ISU chick, getting busted on Melrose with an open container, my wife running off with some West Branch police chief and having my son "Ed", "Ned" or whoever get caught cooking up meth in my woodshed.

I want to personally thank you for straightening out the situation and rightfully restoring my screen name.

Back to the game - tough loss, no doubt. Sure looked like the Hawks were going to pull it off, though. You just can't spot a team a bunch of points, reminds me of the 2nd Iowa/Florida matchup down in Tampa

I was actually waiting for the guy to post that on top of getting busted at the EIU game and the ISU game that he went down to AZ and got deported to mexico. Think it would of been pretty funny.

I never bought into the hype....ever. As great and magical as last season was, there could easily have been 2 more losses (UNI, MSU).

I predicted 8-4 for this season and I stand by it. I can easily see losses to Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Northwestern (but I don't think that will happen).

On the other hand, I can see Iowa losing only 1 or two more games. Losing Hampton hurts. The Hawks cannot afford any more injuries.

penn state won't beat us. no way. i watched their game saturday and their QB has a LONG way to go before he can beat an iowa defense, in kinnick, on homecoming. won't happen.

i also don't remember ANYONE saying the ONLY tough game this year is tOSU. i believe what was said is that will be our toughEST game of the year, as it always is.

i'm also glad to know you think iowa losing is "humorous"

I've never gotten too wrapped up in the NC talk simply because there isn't a playoff system in place. Too many pieces would have to fall correctly for the Hawks too have made it to the game. The media love fest with TCU and BSU could have easily kept us out of the title game even if we had gone undefeated, since it is very likely those two teams will go undefeated. The Hawks can still win out, win the Big Ten, and get to another BCS bowl.
