The last 5 MIH on the other site. Who does everyone think they will be?

5- Riley Reiff
4- Mike Daniels
3- Marvin McNutt
2- Marcus Coker
1- James Vandenberg

If you explain to me what MIH means, I may have an opinion.

Based on the list, I am guessing Most Important Hawk? But not sure.

You're dead on "the boat."

#5 is Marcus Coker

#1 is Vandenburg I think.

Gotta question your rationale there, superfan12. A strong, reliable, banging-style runner will draw the D's attention and give Vandy time to set up and find his receivers. I think JVB and Coker are 1-2 and the OP's list is about right.

LB's are so important to our D (any D, for that matter) that you HAVE to throw in Morris. Especially since we are unproven at QB so our offense is a mystery (could be good, could be iffy), we are going to need that D to step up, and it starts with Morris IMO.

No way is a RB more important than a QB or even a LT. I'd rate it

#5 Coker
#4 McNutt
#3 Morris
#2 Reiff
#1 Vandy

Haweye Report, has already come out with this

10 - Morris
9 - Nielsen
8- Binns
7 - Hyde
6 - Prater

And just this afternoon

5 - Coker

Although I would not rank them in the top 5, I think you can make a strong argument for putting the kicker in the top 10, and maybe the punter too. Certainly these would not be considered star players, but the importance of special teams is underrated.

You may be right about the RB-QB thing, but I would counter that there is no way (especially in Iowa's offense) that a WR is more important than a RB.

I'd argue that with you, but we'd be on the same side of the argument....so that takes all the fun out of it.

Am I the only one that sees ferentz as the most important lineman this year? Obviously Reiff is the most talented, but I think that Ferentz is the key this year. (and it expect that to be a good thing)

Very good point. It just seems to me that in Iowa's offense they have been able to plug in RB's and they keep doing well b/c of Iowa's great line play year after year. WR is a different story.

What I meant was that it's already showing who #5 is on the other site, and it was Marcus Coker.

Gotcha.

In Iowa's pro-style offense, I still say QB-RB are 1-2 importance-wise, at least by position, and I think Iowa's success this year will largely hinge on how well Vandy and Coker do filling those positions. A dominating defense could win some games this year if Vandy and Coker perform at a lower level; while I think we will have a very good defense, I'm not sure it will "dominate" in every game.
