First off, I would like to say hello. I have been reading Hawkeye Nation posts for awhile now, but this is the first time that I have actually posted on here. I think this years team can be a good one if these following things happen in games.
- Field Position: We have to keep the ball out of our end. That means no drives stalling inside of our own 30 yard line
- Touchdowns: This team has to score 6 whenever they get in the red zone. Against good teams, getting only 3 points in the red zone kills you
- Basics: Iowa cannot have mental breakdowns during the B1G season. This team is not good enough (in my opinion) to overcome mental lapses such as defensive breakdowns, numerous penalties, and turnovers (i.e. picks at the end of the game...)
- Confidence: This year's Iowa team has to have confidence. After a rough 4-8 season last year, confidence is key. I feel like a win this weekend pushing them to 3-1 would really help in that category especially with the B1G season just over the horizon.
- Mix up the run game just a little bit: I think Iowa should run the rock with MW for awhile, and when the defense tires and is on their heals, hit them with Canzeri, Bullock, or even Daniels and maybe they could bust a long one for six.
