Remember that? Only a handful of games after the death of a guy that's still my hero, Mr. Chris Street. That's the last time I felt this dejected after a loss. It might have even been exactly 21 years ago, I don't know, but I woke up this morning and I still feel the sting, the dejection. I'm sorry, I can't think of any other word to describe this.

Now I'm not turning on him or bailing from the bandwagon, but that was a coaching mistake not playing Olaseni and Uthoff more. They are exceptional players with unmistakable natural talent. I have no idea why Uthoff missed those FT when that's his forte, but it happened and he should have been out there. Aside from that, we missed some free throw opportunities and we were fouled literally every trip. That's not an excuse, as we probably miss the FT there as well. But I'm NOT DOWN ON THIS TEAM. My 14-4 prediction *STANDS*!

GO HAWKS

Some of you guys, OP especially, need to get some perspective. In the same post you talk about the death of Chris Street and then about how you feel so dejected and terrbile the day after your favorite college basketball team loses a game.

Do not EVEN!. Do not tell me I lack the proper perspective about any of this. Just because something I invest so much passion into applied a direct hit on me doesn't mean I can't separate the difference in importance here. That's a crock of <bleep> and you know it. What a horrible comment to make.

EDIT to add that this was a low blow and a horrible comment to make to someone. Makes me SICK.

You are the one that made the stupid comment, dont get mad at me.

What makes you more SICK? My comment or the loss last night?

I didn't make any stupid comment. What makes me sick is people don't even take time out to realize these are actual human beings on the other side of your computer monitor, and instead of an appropriate apology you go and use the term "stupid". You're the one with the problem, not me. Because somebody died we can't feel dejection over something we invest so much passion into? Go to hell.

I never said you cant be down after a loss, I just said you needed to get some perspective.

OUCH OUCH OUCH! LOL you just had to didn't you? I'm hitting Like on this just because you were able to dig this out. :)

Dig it out? Nah, brah, this is an easy one to find. I work with a bunch of Cryin' Illini fans and you'd think this was the high water mark of their basketball program because they send it to me every freaking time Iowa and Illinois play.

They're going to be sorry for that soon enough! :)

What perspective? Come on, tell me what perspective am I missing??

The perspective that it is pretty f'in pathetic to still be dejected or still "feeling the sting" almost 14 hours after a loss in a basketball game. Is it that hard?

No, what's pathetic is your inability to understand basic human emotion, and that the things you invest passion in are more important to what others do. You sound like a selfish pr**k, and a hypocritical one as well. Kicking others while they're down, I think it's been proven who has a grip on "perspective". Go trim flowers or whatever the hell it is you put heart in to. I'm done with you, wiping my hands. Talk about trolling...again, go to hell.

haha, this is awesome.

Please tell me again how much passion you put into the game last night. It is very inspiring.

So you've never still felt the sting after a bad loss the next day? Guess the only time I've simply not given a rip about the outcome of a game was during the Lick era.
