Bust out your check book and write a check to the University.

It would have to be ONE BIG CHECK.

girlfriend? I doubt the fiancee has any wishes or intentions of leaving her home.

But, Pearl left his wife for the new and improved, maybe he'd leave her for a bigger check. Then what would that say about what he'd do to Iowa?

That all is just conjecture anyway, he ain't leavin'.

Some people are not factoring in the possibilty that Pearl might not want the job.

Even for $3 mil im not sure he would come

This would be a shocker.

As much as many of us want him too many obstacles stand in the way. It just does not make practical sense on either end. A more realistic possibility though is one of his assistants; Forbes.

I believe for 3 million a year he would come. However probably 2 problems with that is 1. I don't think Barta would offer that plus the buyout and 2. I think Tennessee would just match the offer to keep him. We can always hope though.

I'm holding out hope for Pearl until I hear from him. Plus, with the way he dodged the question about coaching positions, I'm setting myself up for a huge heartbreak. Oh well.

It's more than 3 million in my mind... yes we could do that but...

What about our football coach... have you recently read the NCAA report on revenues and seen the disparity between our football and basketball program ? Now you want to tick off the football coach who has devoted 10+ years to this institution and brought great success by immediately paying our B-Ball coach as much or more ?

Also,,, long term what's the buyout then for Pearl's contract in the event that for some unforseen reason he doesn't pan out ? What about raises going forward ? Is there room for growth given limited b-ball revenue ?

Not a fit unless Pearl wants to give Iowa a discount.
