For one thing, just stop blaming the Nate, Fant BF or anyone in particular. We lost. We let an opportunity to escape us. It wasn't one person who let it slip away.
Someone said this team just isn't ready for the prime time and I think that is a fair statement.
Coaches and players need to really push it hard this offseaoff. With so many coming back and actually talking about the possibility of being in the playoffs this late in the year (how many times have we been in that conversation this far into the season?). Again I think the statement about not being ready for prime time is accurate.
However the season isn't over. Win out, beat a bowl win over a good team and it would really spring board the team for next year.
Problem with living in a fast food type world is we want what we want and we want it now. Well ladies, this isn't burger king, it's college football.
We see what is being developed and what recruits are coming in. The future looks good, but everyone that has ever done anything amazing or great has hundreds of stories about the process of getting there.
This talk this morning reminds me of listening to a husker fan a few years ago say "one loss and the season is over. National championship or nothing".
Don't be like them. You are Hawk fans and better than that.

Why would any coach at this level or about any level beyond youth need to be reminded to push hard.

Rob himself is questioning why Nate is struggling, if not regressing. And he's closer the team than most of us. Thats what concerns me. He is not one of these over emotional posters. We do have a bright future and a pretty bright present. I do not see Illinois as our only winnable remaining game regardless of what some are saying. But this QB situation has to be straightened out. We don't win Penn State 2008 or MSU 2009 or even Iowa State 2017 if our QB is making poor physical and mental mistakes at inopportune times.

2008 we had QQB fumble once or twice, and throw at least one INT. The difference? Our D would NEVER give up a 51-yard TD by a gimpy QB the way we did yesterday.
