The clock at the end of the MSU game, favored MSU.

I haven't seen anyone talk about this.

If you look at the last fifteen seconds when we ran four plays, an extra second ran off of the clock on two plays and two extra seconds ran off on one of them. I say an extra second or two meaning that the ball was incomplete and hit the ground and then a second or two went off of the clock, the way it normally does. But those plays were short plays in terms of how long it took to get the pass out of the QB’s hands. You can EASILY run three plays that are quick passes and take 14 seconds, five seconds, five seconds and four seconds. That would still leave one second left on the clock. It isn't outlandish to think that a team can get off the four plays we did in the amount of time that was on the clock.

Now, where did MSU gain in this thing? Well, on the defensive holding play there were an extra two seconds that ran OFF of the clock AFTER the DB caught the ball and went out of bounds. It is obvious. This is the most blatant clock issue that happened. It wasn't real bad, but it was at least as bad if not worse than how the clock ran on the last four plays. But, to be sure, it was run properly during those last four plays. We didn't gain by bad clock running on the last four plays.

I haven't seen anyone bring this up, but that is what happened. Check out the replays.

It was brought up significantly by the MSU coach but of course he was crying about not enough time running off of the clock for each play so it is interesting that you analyzed the end of the game and came up with this conclusion.

There were 15 left when we started that sequence, right? Why did Dantonio keep referencing 4 plays in 15 seconds? You don't have to get 4 plays in 15 seconds...you just have to make sure you can get 3 plays off in 14 or less seconds. That last play is irrelevant because as long as there is 1 second on the clock when the ball is snapped, the play itself can be as long as it takes.

3 quick pass plays in 14 seconds (or in Saturday's case, 13 seconds) is not unbelievable at all. 3 step drop, throw, incomplete...4 seconds tops.

I think Dantonio has since retracted his statement about the 4 plays in 15 seconds.........after watching the gamefilm with a stopwatch.

All that matters to me is the Hawks won.
