The biggest single Big ten conference leap of improvement?

Was Ralph Miller's 1970-71 team. His 1969-70 team went 5-9 in conference play. The following season, his team went 14-0.
Oh yeah, he added a pretty important player to that 70-71' team. You may have heard of him. Freddie Brown.
Next was Lute Olsen's 77-78' team at 5-13 to 13-5 the following season. I don't know why that 77-78' conference season was so poor. That was 1 season before I started watching Iowa basketball.

Is there a two year span where a coach played a large number of slow white guys at a major university on record after 1977?
