That was gross but gutsy!

A loss after a 20 point lead may well have put this team into a tailspin. That gutsy win could propel them to a higher level. They closed a close one out on the road!

I agree. Coming off the loss and having blown a 21 point lead and on the road... This easily could have ended in a bad way.

I almost think this was a gutsier win than the game @OSU. Illinois was playing really well late in the first half, and in spurts in the second and gave Iowa its best shot. Also in one of the nastiest road environments there is.. Not an easy thing to do. First win in Champaign since 1999, and only the second since 1987.

I agree. Illinois played really well for awhile, and Iowa responded. This is a bigger win than many might think it is. Iowa took a step up today. Incidentally, Wisky and the goofs lost at home...

Nasty road environment? I heard that hardly anyone showed up.

Sounded pretty loud to me when ILL was making their runs.

Edit: Checked the box score, and it listed the attendance at 16,618 (out of 17,200 capacity).

This. Place was rocking while we were shooting free throws and at every key point in the second half. (crowd was UNBELIEVABLY live for a team that has lost 6 in a row)

The kids blew a big lead ... but I'm proud of this team today. Last year's team would have lost.
