Teddy Greenstein on The Big Ten and Beyond show.

This guy works for a Chicago paper, and comes out on Friday night's show and says, like everyone knows this, that the PAC 10 is the best conference in the country right now. He didn't say arguably the best, he just said they were the best. I am not saying the Big Ten is the best, but he acted like the SEC wasn't in the conversation when I think MOST people would definitely put them at the top and then there would be a conversation about who was second.

I think this guy has to be questioned as an expert if he is talking like this. Did anyone else catch that? I had to rewind it twice to make sure I heard him correctly because I couldn't believe anyone that knew anything would say that.

Meh, I'm okay with one sports writer not drooling all over the SEC. I think Alabama and Florida are elite but I'm not sold on LSU or anyone else in the SEC yet. USC and Oregon have looked good (except for Boise and Washington) and by the end of the season Teddy might be proven right. Judging by his upset picks probably not, but you never know. Maybe he's just sick of the SEC too.

I actually respect Teddy, as he is usually more knowledgable than most of these national guys. He is not always going with the conventional wisdom either. The SEC has not really played anyone outside their conference, and they seem to be more of a defensive league this year.
Teddy has always had respect for Iowa, altho he picked wisky last week, he did pick Iowa this week. I do not think he has an axe to grind vs anyone, which is the way it should be. Anytime a guy is asked to opine on sports, he is going to be wrong a lot..nature of the beast. I like Teddy more than most.
