Taunting in Ohio State game

A OSU player was called for taunting after he dunked. It was a tech foul and the other team shot free throws. Matta called him to the sideline and seemed to console him. He should have been benched. It is this type of behavior that can lead to fights. I get sick of trash talk and taunting. Most teams or leagues refuse to come down hard on these guys. The NCAA, NFL, Nascar and others do not have the guts to come down hard on bad behavior.

Wow.

Taunting in College BB is a automatic T the call was right the coach not lecturing him was wrong
bad msg was sent to the kid

Was it for hanging on the rim or taunting?

Taunting does need to be called, if it was for hanging on the rim, it is rarely called and should be. Bowling Green got called for one yesteday at Michigan State, it was correct, but needs to be called with the rules.

I agree that in some instances taunting should be dealt with more harshly, I would argue that in most instances (especially in your NFL example), taunting is called at least harshly enough, if not too harshly.

Unless you were there or can read lips, you don't know what was said or how it was said. Matta may in fact have told the kid he can't do that, and the next time the consequences will be more severe. As much as I hate to admit, Matta is a pretty good coach and I have a sense he knows how to work with his players.

Nascar isn't a sport, its just driving a car in a circle for a really long time. That is all...

When you live in a city with a double roundabout you soon realize that driving in a circle is surprisingly a very challenging thing for many people *sigh*
