I like that thought.... And I think that is why being a Hawkeye fan is so special. Tradition, Legacy, passing it on to the next generation. Wether your talking about basketball legends, an historic wrestling program or a strong or a football fan base that is up there with the best of them... I can say I am proud to be a hawk! It's makes wading through the down seasons more than worth it, knowing you can depend on Your program, the Hawks, to do right by you.About how this team is playing the best since 86-87 Hawks. Why I really like it is, because they have the RM23 on their jerseys! I just think that should be talked about more!
Very special to this Hawk fan!
The Ducks were nothing more than a fad, they cranked out some great teams, but have since fizzled out, pretty much like "tickle me Elmo", or the Wisconsin Badgers (maybe they're one in the same, who knows, Go Hawks.....
Yep, but 10 year olds are very impressionable. I remember as a kid I got locked in as a Hawkeye fan during the Final Four run and Hayden Fry.
When I was 10 it was the 1986-87 Hawks. That team (along with BJ, Roy & Ed) are really what made me a huge Hawk fan, and the rest is history.
This season is just what's needed to bring in future Hawk fans - Young Hawk fans (or fans to be) haven't seen a season like this. Most probably just remember Alford & Lick.
I thought Marble was the coolest name ever.
