Tailgating for the Minnesota Game

So some friends and I are making our first trip up to an Iowa v. Minnesota game. We were able to get a parking pass for one of the non-tailgating ramps by the stadium, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what to do before the game. I know there are a few bars by the stadium but not sure if they are open for tailgating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im not sure either. It was easy when the game was in the dome because we would just park in a downtown ramp and walk to Huberts bar and be surrounded by hundreds of Hawk fans.

I have a parking pass to the Oak Street ramp, but am not sure if you can tailgate there. I would not think you could. A Gopher fan I know has invited me to his tailgate that is at a private house, not sure that I want to go though.

If there are bars around the stadium that might be a viable option because of the 2:30 kickoff.
