Besides having a limited number of offensive formations you can read with a high frequency of accuracy what type of play being called ( run or pass) base on the personel they have on the field. You would have to be at the game to pick this up, but if I can see it I am sure their defensive coordinator can see. I believe there were at least 3 times that both DJK and McNutt were not in and we ran everytime and not very successfully.

...or by the depth of the running back. It actually seems like this year they have tried to mask that a bit more. It used to be if the back was 5 yards deep it was a pass and if he was 7 yards deep it was play-action or run. Now it seems the RB is always closer to 7 regardless. And people say the staff doesn't adjust.
