Sunday!...Sunday!...Sunday!

Really interested to see how things play out on Sunday against Purdue. I'm feeling less confident than I was last week, but still feel good. Reasons for the decrease in confidence stem from MSU looking bad, Purdue looking improved, and Iowa giving up a lot points in their last 2 games.
So, do the MSU wins feel less special to anyone because of how they have looked since playing Iowa?
Does Purdue seem like a tougher team since Iowa came back and beat them?
I know Michigan can shoot it really well but they had a lot of open looks last Sunday. Rutgers seemed to get inside a lot last night. Does 71 and 76 seem like a lot to give to those two teams?

Anyone feel the same? Or anyone feel like telling me I'm being a paranoid Iowa fan?

When the goal is to win the conference, every game is stressful because it means so much. If the goal was just to make the tournament like it was a month ago, would this game even matter enough to be stressful? As far as MSU goes, if we would have beaten them after they lost 2 in a row, it wouldn't have meant as much. Since we were their first loss (and second) it's easy to chalk it up to us being the reason they are struggling now.

You are being a paranoid Iowa fan. Don't feel bad though. This same thread is started for every game, literally. "Anyone else nervous about this game?" "Classic trap game".....so on and so forth.

Paranoia is a funny thing for sports fans... I don't think it's a bad thing to be worried that we might lose. This feeling is already reminding me of football. Every game is so intense and nerve racking as a fan. But you can't complain because we wouldn't get to feel this way if the team sucked. I actually enjoy the fear of losing every game because it means our team should be winning them. And that's a good thing. ENJOY THE INTENSITY.

Well, Purdue is a good team, so this is certainly no gimme. It makes me a bit nervous, but I like our chances and expect to win if Iowa plays well.

The D - yeah, could've been better last night. It didn't bother me so much against Michigan, because they have so many scorers so am not surprised they put some points on the board.

The stress from football and now the stress from basketball is a very welcomed stress. The euphoria after a win is intoxicating and well a loss is intoxicating just in a different way. GO HAWKS!!!

Great point. Nerves mean that your team is playing meaningful games. That's a great thing.

I never felt this way during the Todd Lackluster years, or even the Alford years (except maybe 2005-06).

Well we're not going 18-0 in conference play so we need to be prepared to lose a few. Could be on Sunday cause they're a good team. Most likely we lose at least one of the next two. Once we accept we're not so great to go 18-0 the anxiety goes away.............I hope.

I have no realistic thoughts of 18-0, but want to see Iowa stay highly seeded in Bracketology. That's my main thing. At least 3-4 hopefully, but 2 would be great.

I'm not expecting to win @MD, so really hope Iowa wins on Sunday. What I don't want is to lose both. In the end, even if they do lose 2 straight, it's not a big deal if Iowa takes care of the rest of the schedule with relative ease, but the more "quality wins" the better for tournament seeding.

Oh, and I'd like to see that big ten title streak come to an end, too. 1979. Fran seems to be into breaking those types of streaks...

I want the big ten title. Until indiana and Maryland lose some damn games I'll be nervous

Purdue will be gunnin for Iowa, they have, oh, what would you call it?, a sour taste in their mouth perhaps? Iowa better be ready for battle for 40 minutes.....Hawks by 7, 67-60....
