Sullinger promises to return to OSU

I hope he comes back. I wish all the good college players would stick around.

However, like the previous poster said. Many have made comments like that in the heat of the moment.

At the same time, this is the one year in which it may be a good idea to stay in school. The NBA could be headed for a labor situation that makes the NFL's situation look pleasant.

Over half the NBA teams are losing money right now. Players have made a blueprint on how to hold a franchise hostage and get to a more desired team. Player contracts are guaranteed. Burnouts are making millions. Unless something crazy happens their labor situation is going to be very ugly. It wouldn't be a surprise to see the NBA to miss serious time.

If Sullinger and Buford are both back OSU has to let at least one recruit out of an LOI, maybe two. Amir Williams a 6-9 C went there, his words, because the coaches told him Jared was going to not be around.

I would be surprised to see him back. This smacks of emotion-based, knee jerk reaction. Although I'm sure he's compensated nicely at O$U, he stands to get a hefty pay raise in the NBA.

If I were him, I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

If anything, Harrelson from Kentucky showed last night that if you put a defender of equal size on Sullinger and the refs don't give him all the calls (cough Big Ten refs cough) he can be somewhat limited offensively. I realize he still statistically had a pretty great game, but the fact that Kentucky was able to play him straight up killed Ohio State's offense in the second half. That and the fact that Diebler couldn't stick with Liggins on the other side.

He could probably use another year in college to add some more to his game.

I would not be surprised either way,but knowing that his family is very supportive, and probably not pushing him to go to the NBA,and that the lockout looms, I think he will come back. He would go in the top 5 if he came out,but yes, like all of these frosh,he could use another year.
If Buford also returns, OSU will be a top 3 team in the pre-season,if not #1,depending on who else comes back. Brandon Knight and Terrance Jones will go to the NBA,I presume,as they are only on one year contracts with Cal. That would knock them down a peg, maybe, altho they do have 3 of the top 6 coming in next year. Look out for Anthony Davis (Perspectives HS,Chicago) who is another top 3 NBA pick coming for KY next year.
The NBA CBA negogiation is going to be brutal, and everyone is expecting a prolonged period of no NBA next year...so it could give some kids pause...sit ,or play?

Good for him. The NBA is a job. Being a young college kid is fun, as long as you don't mind a little homework. He seems like a great kid.

I agree that he should stay. I hate watching people leave college for the NBA. It makes the game less interesting, and I actually enjoy the NBA too.

Incorrect. Kecman (who was a Jr.) isn't returning after another ACL tear. We'll be right at the limit if Buford returns. Sully has planned on being here 2 years from the get go, but no one wanted to hear that a month or so ago. Been a rough week to be an OSU fan. Sully and maybe Buford returning has been the only good news in weeks....
