I honestly did not think much of this until I watched last nights Monday night football game between Miami and NY Jets. Did anyone else watch that and get the impression it was all staged?
Couple of observations:
First Quarter, 3rd and inches inside the Jets 40 they run a pass play. The QB had a guy wide open underneath in the direction he ended up throwing the ball. Instead he threw to a well covered wide receiver with virtually no chance to catch it. Then they punt the ball instead of going for it, ok you are playing field position but Miami is 0-5! Every time they got near the endzone it was like the offense shut down.
Miami gets the ball back and driving what looks like an easy touchdown. But the QB throws it right to the CB who takes it all the way back for a 100 yard touchdown. The tackling attempts were comical.
The easy dropped passes, the dumb play calls, the lack of intensity I thought Miami was just that bad but then at the end of the game I see the team owner laughing it up like he was watching a comedy show.
Did anyone else get the impression that this game last night was staged? It was almost like they were on MNF so they were just "trying" to make a good effort. I am a Bears fan and if I caught them trying to lose in the 5th game of a NFL season I would be done rooting for them. I could see laying it up with a couple games left when there is nothing to play for, but the 5th game????
