Student Section

I just don't understand how the boosters and alum can't understand that having the student section wrapped around the court would give us a way better gameday experience, better homecourt advantage and therefore a better team? Every time after I watch Duke play at home it infuriates me how fun their games look to people on TV.

They can't wrap around the court very easily at Carver due to design. I would put them right behind the basket and move the band--

At least they're somewhat close to the visitor's bench....all the better for being "disrespectful" (in a nice Iowa sort of way)

Duke plays in a glorified high school gym. Old school with the stands packed around the floor. Carver is a wide bowl so there are some limitations by the nature of its design.

There is nothing special at all to coming to games a student. Give them 15 rows on the TV side behind the team benches. Make it bench seating so they can cram as many butts as the can into it.. their young and can stand the whole game ,jump around. Let them have signs and a good time. They need to upgrade the scoreboards with big screens.

Duke has a raucus student section because they are perenially very good. That is the cause and effect relationship. Trying to build a raucus student section is very difficult without that sustained level of success. This is not an if you build it they will come scenario.

Ahh BS ...Hilton has their students on the ends just like Iowa. I can get behind the design but the lack of attendance?? That's on the students.... Fricken cry babies

So how many students attend the average conference game? And what is capacity of the student section?

The male students need to get to Carver. See the girls later. If they don't get rowdy, send them to the library and have a beer later. If the girls are into the game, not sitting and " chatting", fine, but if you don't know the game, go to the bar, chat with your friends, have some white wine, and discuss your wardrobe. Leave the fanatic boy fans alone. They need to show some spirit and fun and fanaticism!! STAND, YELL, LOOK AND ACT like you want to will the Hawks to VICTORY!! Not whine about the snow, cold, or your philosophy professor.

You can't find a ticket to many of the remaining games for under $50 ...including standing room only. Carver is going to full to over capacity from here on out for home games.
