Found this article Steve did in 2006 after his first year with Pearl. Kind of an interesting read.
Q&A with Steve Forbes govolsxtra.com Mobile

Also saw some postings from UT saying that when Keno left Drake, they thought Forbes might get that job. Some people posted that they were okay with losing him rather than the other assistance Tony Jones. (Jones had been there from the beginning.)

a couple of minor uh ohs in this interview...

-it's nice to have Forbes in case Jones gets a hot opportunity. So Forbes isn't even the best head coaching prospect on the Vols staff?

-he can help us in the halfcourt stuff, not so much the pressure. Uh oh...more slow methodical offense?

It was his first year.....Pearl wasn't going to include him in possible assistants that would leave for head coaching positions.

Secondly, Pearl was referring to DEFENSE when he said he helps us with the half court stuff.

I've made note of this before, but Tony Jones is the Associate Head Coach of that program. Forbes' title is just "Assistant Coach." Why not take a look at Jones instead? Maybe brother Bill would put in a good word for us.
