Very strange happenings in Madison

ESPN Story: http://espn.go.com/college-football...adgers-backup-qb-indefinitely-shoulder-injury

Looks like Wisconsin has announced Stave has a hurt shoulder and needs some time to rest.

Why this whole situation seems fishy:
  • Anderson benches incumbent 9-win starter from last year in favor of a mobile QB that goes 8-24 for 50 yards and 2 interceptions
  • Conveniently announces Stave is hurt and has to rest a while after the game. How is this determined AFTER this game? He certainly did not hurt anything in the game
  • Melvin Gordon is playing amazing and gets like 2 or 3 carries in 2nd half. Anderson says something about a halftime incident but doesn't elaborate after game
  • After game they announce he had a hip flexor even though Gordon himself said after the game he was fine

Something is not adding up in Madison....very strange.

<<Something is not adding up in Madison...>>

Agreed. And if it continues, my guess is Alvarez will pull the plug quickly and BEG Bielema to come back, or make a serious play for Fitz.

If you had followed Fitz's last week, you would know that he is not going to be on any Big Ten school's short list. The guy is imploding more than Andersen at Wis.

1. NW's defensive players wore the wrong wrist-bands the first half vs Cal, and had to change them at halftime...the bands have all the defensive calls on them evidently....first half, Cal ran wild on NW's defense.

2. In his postgame, Fitz admitted that they were caught totally off guard by Cal having a dual QB approach with a runner and a passer....the runner guy ran wild in the wildcat.

3. Also in the postgame, Fitz complained that the Cal bloggers had not spilled the beans on the QB deal...what?

4. Fitz had the Ryan Field ground crew leaving the grass at an all time length...almost inches, to slow the speedy Cal....bush league.

Bloom is definitely off of Fitz as he complies a 1-8 record in his last nine games at NW....do not think Alvarez will be calling him.

Good points. And you also have to wonder how the NW union thing will affect Fitz from here on out, as in, "This guy can't keep players happy who are getting a full ride at Northwestern?! And he let a couple guys get away with dividing the team?"

It's announced that Stave is not hurt, but has a case of the yips/can't make throws. Is his headcase worse than McEnvoy's performance Saturday night?

Also... If Gordon is hurt, why he still in for 10 plays in the second half (including pass protection)?

Something fishy.
