800,000 hits (I was hoping for 400,000)
32,000 Unique Users (I was hoping for 10,000)
We are on a pace for more than 3,000,000 page views in our first 30 days of operation, and more than 60,000 unique users, at least. Unreal. For a website that didn't exist seven days ago to have this kind of traffic in the first week is pretty unheard of. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have your football team make history that same week (smiles). And of course, the passion of Iowa fans is the reason why.
Thanks for making this first week of the new HawkeyeNation.com better than I ever imagined. We had a few bugs to work out early on, and I know that some people have tried to log in and have had some issues. I promise to fix those as soon as you email me about them, and the hundreds of people I have helped with this can attest to that.
We'll keep fine tuning things, like adding emoticons and avatars, we'll have more content announcements, a pretty significant bowl charter partnership announcement on Monday, an Iowa football recruiting 'coverage' announcement on Monday, a site FAQ & How to this week so you can take advantage of all of the things that we offer, such as your own personal blog space, where you can upload your tailgate and Hawkeye photos, and so much more.
We haven't even touched 40% of what this sucker can do, and it was a record smashing week here...the traffic we had this week was the same as what we had on the previous version of HawkeyeNation.com after six years of being online...I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to at least give us a look.
