State of Illinois - No NCAA Mens Teams

No one mentioned it, but no mens team from Illinois made the NCAA tournament. I don't know when that last occurred, but it seems so unlikely with so many teams within the state competing to get in.
 
Without looking it up I would say that every year Illinois hasn't made it there was a good chance that no Illinois school made it. Not a lot of basketball powers outisde of Illinois.
 
Well, Northwestern has never made it. DePaul has struggled in recent years. Then you have Northern Illinois, Illinois State, and Southern Illinois. Also, Illinois-Chicago, Bradley and Loyola. Don't forget SIU Edwardsville. Then there is Western Illinois, Eastern Illinois, and Chicago State. Lots of schools, not many good teams this year.
 
Im surprised at this, I hadnt followed to tourny selection very closely but I was sure at least Northwestern would get a chance to dance for the first time, I think they deserved it.
