As you all know, our recent woes have occurred during the beginning of the second half when our starting 5 are on the floor. That tells me that this lineup isn't working even if, for some reason, they seem to be getting it done in the first half. I think pretty much everyone agrees that Uthoff and White should be in the starting lineup. There could be some debate regarding Woodbury versus Oleseni, but I personally don't think changing that up would make that different.
The real problem is that we are starting two point guards. That is fine if one or both are legitimate scoring threats, but that is not the case, though Gessell occasionally goes off.
Although Jok has been inconsistent this year at least he constantly looks to score. I think you have to put him in the starting lineup. He certainly has been better than Ogelsby so far. Clemmons makes a serviceable backup PG and Ogelsby or Ellingson can spell Jok.
One problem with this lineup is that you could have Clemmons and Ogelsby on the floor at the same. This isn’t great given that neither look to score all that often. But I think we have to do something to change it up. It will be interesting to see if Fran changes the lineup against North Florida. If Jok plays well today, I think he has to change it going into the BigTen season.
