and the starters are still in with the game no longer in doubt. This drives me crazy year after year.......is there a reason to: A) risk your starters in a meaningless game, B) not give the backups some game reps.

The starters need the playing time experience...playing 2.5 quarters does not allow them enough PT to be ready for playing an upcoming BCS school and intra-state rival.

I agree. The offense still needed the work. They aren't a finished product by any means.

With EIU getting only a little more than 150 total yards in the game (with most of that on one drive), Iowa should've been able to name the score.
