Stanzi's INT

I just don't get it. We are gashing them 5 yds at a time, up 17-7 and driving to put the game away and we throw a pass play that ends up in an INT. RUN THE BALL! What is so wrong with handing the ball to Adam Robinson? That INT was the ball game. UNREA
L! Once again we crap ourselves against Northwestern.

That INT wasn't that bad. NW had the ball on the 15 and marched it right down the field. The defense is all out of sorts....

Stanzi executed the play, made what he thought was the best decision for the play down field. Northwestern made a better response to our play. It happens. Put the firing squad away. Stanzi is and will be considered one of our best QB's ever. Not everything goes perfect in football. Even Dan Marino, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, and other great QB's throw picks. It sucks, but it happens, no need to beat up our QB, he is what we got for now.

I like stanzi as our qb but stop making excuses for him. Yes, we all like him and yes the team lost the game but his jump ball pick was not the right decision as someone stated he had the tight end right in front of him for a 10-15 yard reception wide open. He made his mind up you can't do that. Persa was head and shoulders better today.

Stanzi has never thrown the ball well deep into the wind, and yet he keeps on doing it. And it keeps getting picked off.

Stanzi's a good QB, but the decision to throw that ball in that situation was inexcusably poor. If he thought that was the best chance for the team to win, then he is even more confused than I thought.

That was a forced desperation pass in a situation where forcing a throw was the worst thing he could do. Iowa was winning and in very good position to ice the game with a score. They were running the ball at will.

I have no problem with calling a passing play. I guess the coach's assumed that their fifth year senior would know not to throw that ball.

I always get excited when Stanzi throws deep. He has such a great touch. He really throws long well.

Rarely connects and often times is picked off... very exciting

Correct. You notice that the ones he does connect on are thrown hard with not much air on them like to McNutt last week and DJK this week. More often he puts too much air on them when it isn't needed.
