Stanzi for the Unitas Award

I know we would all love to see Stanzi get some Heisman love, but him winning that is a long shot. However, the Johnny Unitas Award isn't out of the question. He has some competition, but note it is for senior QB's, so no Cam Newton (Auburn), Darron Thomas (Oregon), Kellen Moore (Boise State) among others.

I think the front runners for the Unitas Award are in no particular order:

Andy Dalton (TCU)
Greg McElroy (Alabama)
Ricky Stanzi (Iowa)
Tyrod Taylor (Virginia Tech)

The way Ricky is playing right now, I'm not sure how he couldn't get that award. I could see Dalton and McElroy being in discussion, but I don't think either is quite as good, maybe a little biased though.

Dalton is the one, if I had to choose someone who would win it over Ricky. Rick's chances are pretty good for this one.

Look at Nevada's QB. Also, Tolzien is putting together a nice senior year. People like Ponder too.

My feeling is Ricky will have to put together some final drive magic to get noticed.'

3 Big ten guys and the list didn't include Kirk Cousins who was having a great year til the Iowa game. Adam Weber could've been really good, but got stuck playing for Brewster. QB quality and depth is really good this year in the Big ten.

My bad, he is a junior.........my premise about quality and depth still hold true. Cousins, Persa and for the sake of this argument Pryor are juniors having good years. Scheelhaase is coming on as well.
