Stanley's going to have a rough night, so I will give him one appreciation thread

I still say NS is above avg with glimmers of great, with also moments of WTF.

Poor interior oline play vs PSU and Mi, and an OC(or HC) that doesn't put him in good positions has hurt him.

Kid gets happy feet and squirrelly too much, but he also shows great arm talent.

Good kid, good Hawk. Probably takes more blame than he should, but that comes with the qb territory.

His legacy will unfortunately not include any great success other than the crazy OSU win, solid MSU bowl win, 4 wins vs isu, and possibly a few passing records.

Hope he can finish strong, although it will feel hollow this year.

Rooting for him. I'm really deflated right now being out if the hunt with 3 games left. My anger is much more toward BF/KF currently

Not with this years oline play and offensive playcalling and strategy. But possibly another win or 2.
 
2nd half tonight he had time to throw you can see what he can do. Has he been amazing no but at this point it is what it is
 
He got four years of scholarship for winning virtually nothing. He got more than he earned.
 
If we can go 3-0 in our remaining games and win a bowl game, NS can claim:

9-0 combined in trophy games against ISU, Minny, and Neb

Urban Meyers biggest loss ever

3-0 in bowl games

Unfortunately, he’ll be winless against Wisky with no division titles.

So, like Iowa as a whole....good, but not great.
 
9-0 in trophy games against the bad teams that we have trophy games with isn't really an accomplishment. And Minny is going to beat Iowa by 20+.

Not going to happen. Next weeks game will be close. Do we lose close...probably yeah.
 
You can give me the completion percentage stats, total TD records, TD/int ratio blah blah blah.

1-12 is the stat you need to know.

In my mind I’ll remember him for padding his stats vs crap teams and craping his pants in big games.

Thanks for the Ohio state game tho.

You should feel bad for making such a stupid statement. PSU, Michigan and Wisconsin beat us by a combined 14 points but Minny is going to beat us, at home, by 20+? Yea, that's not happening. I'm actually confident we will beat them. They will be coming off a major high and primed for a letdown game.

Did you watch Minnesota today? They have a 21st century offense and a 21st century coach and are beating everyone in front of them, and you think Kirk "OK Boomer" Ferentz is going to hang with them? It's going to be a rout in front of thousands of Minnesota fans in Iowa City.

LOL not gonna happen. They played a nice game today. Iowa played a nice game against Ohio State two years ago. That's what happens sometimes when you're playing at home in a huge game with a super jacked crowd. Minny will have a smattering of fans next weekend. Kinnick will be nearly 70K Hawk fans and Minny won't have that edge.

Yeah, I think you're going to be surprised with how many "loyal Iowa season ticket holders" are eyeing StubHub and finding better things to do with their time next Saturday.

I didn't used to but it's hard to argue against, but I think scheming, personal groups, and down/distance/situation plays hurts our qbs.

This year, the interior oline play was the worst I can remember, literally free rushers every game(vs psu an mich multiple times). Although they actually looked mostly solid today.

Then you look at the last 20 minutes and think...ok...we have the ability and just dont do it until 2 scores down.....that's coaching.

That center exchange fumble...its always something... goddamnit.
 
Outside the Outback Bowl, every "Big Time" game Stanley played in, he lost. I wish him the best, but I will not miss him
