Stanley and WR's

I think a bigger question than Oliver Martin in the receiving game is Stanley's ability to hit and connect with open WR's. Does this improve in his third year as starter?

Hes got to.. Hes just got to. He and Smith will have both had 3 yrs together. 2 for Smith Marsette I believe or maybe 3 with him also. Add in the newbies competing for Easleys reps and the inexperience at TE and I just see more targets for them too.
Now to factor in that our Oline should be pretty darn good. Hopefully significantly better in the running game. The domino effect of that being play action being even more effective. 2nd and 3 is a lot more fun to call plays for WRs on then 3rd and 8.

So I have high hopes for yes being the answer to your question about Stanley improving at that.

Hope you are right. But I had that kind of optimism last Summer, hearing how much time he was spending on his own with his receivers. Then the season hits us, and he's missing receivers 30 yards in the clear by 10 yards or more. I don't expect he'll ever have Troy Aikman accuracy, but stuff like that has GOT to come to an end.
But if he needs a motivator, Athlon Sports only has him as the 4th-best QB in the B1G this Fall. Good grief - they have Mekhi Sargent rated THAT high. In both cases, it makes me wonder what they know that I don't.

stanley clearly didn't have the season he or we needed. but i will give his accuracy problems the benefit of the doubt due to his thumb injury during the PSU game that (apparently) he dealt with the rest of the season. but yeah, spencer and mansell need to be ready to go and kirk damn well better make a change if stanley falls apart. having said that, i have no reason to believe stanley will fall apart and i think he's a NFL draft pick. but we've got the talent in the qb room, use it if stanley struggles, is my point.
