St. Thomas Aquinas Wins again

Jacob Rudock led St. Thomas Aquinas to its 7th consecutive state semi-final with a 47-6 win against Boyd Anderson on friday night. Boyd Anderson came into the game at 9-3 and had lost to the Raiders in the second game of the year. Rudock threw a 13 TD in the first half and his final stats were not available. The Raiders now take on Manatee, another team ranked in the top 10 nationally, and the team that knocked them out of the state final last year in a double overtime game. This years game is played at Brian Piccolo Stadium, home of the Raiders. This should be an epic game because they are both ranked number 2 on at least one of the HS national polls. They winner could snare the NC for HS football.

Rudock is going to be an absolute stud for us. I firmly believe he will be the next in line after JVB goes the next two years. Nothing against Derby but I just don't see him starting for us in the QB spot.

very excited about his potential. especially with the OL studs coming in, and the hopeful addition of Coe!

The Raiders lost last year to Manatee 28-20 to keep them out of the state title game. It is the only loss they have had in the last 51 games. A couple of players that play in the big 10 this year played in that conference last year. James White, who Iowa recruited and who loved Iowa but saw the depth at RB, played at St. Thomas. Denard Robinson who is a terror and we all know plays at UM, played at Deerfield Beach. Tough, tough conference. There were representatives of 7-8 universities present friday night and there will probably be a few more players from both schools offered scollies this year.

Didnt we pull White's offer when Johnson committed?

Yes MAC, you are correct. I wasn't sure what was going on there and White was the guy I wanted even though I had seen Johnson and he was impressive. Seemed like White was torn between Iowa and Wisky and wouldn't pull the trigger. Iowa finally got Johnson and a few days later White was a Badger.

If Johnson can consistently play at the level he flashed in the spring game, I don't think that's a bad trade-off.

Johnson was never here in the spring. He didnt get to campus till the summer.

I believe he meant the fall, because a lot of people had some really good things to say about him and he probably would've seen time if it wasn't for the fact he was behind a year (sr year of hs) due to the knee injury and they wanted to make sure he was good and healed.

Was there an open practice this fall then that I'm not recalling specifically? I was sure I've seen Johnson at one point or another.

Rudock is going to be a stud. Does anyone have a video link showing his senior year??? His junior video was sweet! There is a very good chance that Jake will be starting his sophmore year. Although I would not be surprised to see him make a backup role next. Just watching their pro-set offense, the guy simply had the experience already....
That's not to cutout Suess. I like what I saw out of him in HS and I have heard he has improved significantly...

I ONLY ask, that the coaches let the 2nd teamer play a series here and there, AND that the 2nd teamer gets some reps with the 1st team!!!

That's a pretty big leap of logic. How would he have seen him in the fall?
