I was lucky enough to speak with coach Smith and I can assure you Rudock will be a Hawkeye. He can't wait to do what he can to help the team.I didn't see it I only read about it but I think the best development on this was after the game Jake was interviewed and he spoke highly of Iowa and how he was looking forward to coming here next year. Hopefully that quiets down some of the whispers that Miami is going after him.
Rudock is a king there and I am sure he will help lead some of the athletes to Iowa City over the next few years.I watched video of this kid last night for the hell of it. He can flat out slang the rock. I'm sure it also helps that his top two recievers are commited to Florida State and the other Miami, but someones got to get it to them and he sure did.
It would have been nice to pull James White out of there too, but Rudock is a good start!

There is no question. I really don't care about star ratings but he is a solid 4 star. He committed early and that sometimes keeps the star level down. Had he committed to USC, Oklahoma, OSU, Mich, he would be a 4 now. Because he won the NC it might elevate him but the bottom line is he is a Hawkeye and we are happy to have him.I haven't watched video of him so I am just asking opinion here. Is he deserving of a 4* rating rather than 3* now?

If he had committed to one of those schools mentioned he'd be a 5* by now.
how many years out do you guys think he is? i mean do you think he can come in and compete for the starting job? or take a redshirt and see what happens?
So much anger he has...hummmm? Have a clear mind he does not! That is why I don't worry a lot about stars. We're talking about the same kid that you suspect would be 5* if at Oklahoma or the others. It's the same kid and he is going to be a stud, even if he has no stars.
We keep having this discussion and it's pointless. What is pretty commonplace is that many folks think Kirk and his staff are in the top five in the country at evaluating players. Given that speculation, I really don't care what these kids are rated.
