Spring Depth Chart

Nice to see that Easley must be impressing. Also it's kind of interesting that we've gotten rid of the 3 WR depth charts.

I wonder if Bower will again be pushed by Mends or even Jones for his spot. He definitely played better as the season wore on, but I still think he lacks the speed we need at WLB.

Also hope to see Miles Taylor break out of his Jr year slump, as I think Hooker could definitely push him for the starting role.

I wonder if M. Nelson still doesn't slide inside, as Brady Reiff at 260 seems pretty light for a DT, then AJ can break into a rotational or even starting role outside.

I don't think there is any doubt that Matt Nelson is going inside. With Slater gone, we are one injury away from having the only guy with experience (Bazata) out of the lineup. You need 4-5 guys at DT and Nelson is definitely in that group. With the talent on the outside at DE and the young guys trying to break in (Golston, AJ, and others)...it's just too clear Matt Nelson is more valuable inside. Now, if Newborg gets healthy and is a force...that may change...but right now, we seem pretty thin inside.

Rob,

I apologize in advance for my lack of tech skills. Would you please post out the depth chart in a larger format so I can print it out. Thanks. Good news...you and other can get a good laugh at my expense.

Peter Pekar pecked a peck of pickles...........

Good thing that kid was big and athletic growing up or he would have caught a rash of crap.

Looks like Boyle was promised nothing when he switched back to QB. Not even on the 3 deeps. No idea what he is thinking, but maybe Boyle has decided he is going to give it 1 final shot at QB, and if it does not work out, he will focus on getting his degree from Iowa.

He could also transfer after semester. Not saying that will happen, but if he doesn't see his future at WR and can't climb the QB ladder this spring, he MIGHT want to find a place where he feels he has a better chance to get on the field.

I want to see Drake Kulick back. Must still be healing from the broken foot. I thought he was just a junior. Yeah, I know, just a fullback, but kid won me over as a fan after the nebby game and how he handled it.

I believe he's going to miss out on spring drills.

Depends on his priorities. I believe I read somewhere that Boyle is a Biomedical Engineering major. Iowa has a very good BME program. It might be worth sticking around to get his degree from Iowa. That's a tough program to graduate from in 4 years, so it might take Boyle 5 years to get a BSBME.

But its all speculation on my part without any inside info whatsoever. I never thought that Rudock would transfer because I thought Rudock wanted to be a doctor. Turns out Rudock wanted to be an NFL QB and went for it.

Yes, I am speculating, too. It's something I try to avoid but I'm basing it on things I'm hearing in this case. I still don't like to do it, though, as these are very fluid situations.
