Spread has gone from Iowa -7.5 to -10

I expected iowa to come out as 7.5 favorites (ask miller damnit, i sent him a text on saturday saying this), but felt it would drop to Iowa -5. I'm looking at scoresandodds.com.

edit to say, i have to believe that'll get money on the other side and this number will go back down. I know...double digit favorite history and all of that...

There is a lot on the line for the defense.
Most think we are a step behind Michigan and MSU, depending on what numbers you look at. This game is a statement game to say we are just as good as they are.
It's also a statement game for the offense, to finally say they have put it all together. That as a unit they are going to be a force to be reckoned with next year.
It's also the last game (bowl game pt varies so widely) to put a stamp on the film that is a career scouts and agents will evaluate.

Illinois has LOST 4 out of the last 5
Nebraska has WON 4 out of the last 5

That's not an opinion.

Nebraska trending up is total opinion.
Don't forget they put up 28 points their very first game against Colorado. One of this 4 out of 5 was against B-CU. They put up 53 against MN but 45 against B-CU the following week. Is B-CU better than MN?? Hardly.
At best Nebraska is treading water.
The one win out of that 4 out of 5 that actually says anything was against MSU.
MSU missed fg's, and is way down from normal.

Who have we beaten? Maryland, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois. What is the combined record of those powerhouses?

Toss out all the nuances you want...that's not the point. The fact is Illinois is 1-4 over the last 5, Nebraska is 4-1. It was postulated that the two teams are very similar, which one could make a good argument for. Where they're not similar...is their recent W-L trend. That isn't an opinion, it's a matter of record.

Difference of opinion. To me trending up means more than w/l.
That's like finding a woman. You could try several times to get one, then go into a bar full of fatties and get several offers. Did you really win? Are you suddenly on a winning streak, or did you adjust your "winning"?

I get that Nebraska has more W's than Illinois recently.
But trending up is debatable.

Your confusing a "fact" with an "interpretation". The records are what they are and show different trends. What that means or how significant it may or may not be is certainly open to interpretation and opinion...but the numbers are trending in different directions. That is a clear and quantifiable difference between the teams.

Again, your definition of trending is based in the singular. Have they won more games in a given time frame? Yes.
Thats like saying on a test of 100 questions, never mind that you got the first 48 wrong, you are on a trend and trending up because you got 4 in a row right. That doesn't affect the next 48 at all.
Maybe the middle 4 questions were what is your name? How old are you? Do you have a mother? What was the last question?.

In layman's terms. A broken clock is right twice a day and the sun shines on a dog's ass every now and again.

I'm simply saying them winning those games and Illinois losing those games has very very little to do with the trending of a program.
Do I think they will get better? Sure, but that's pure speculation and not based on trending.
