I think Amari was good, but i think Bernstein will be better. Amari continually got burnt on the underneath stuff and we remember the 1st play of the PSU game this year. I don't think Amari will be a 1st day choice, I am guessing 6th or 7th round.
Who do we all have coming back at DB? I know Prater will be back, he is a good CB, I think his best years are ahead of him. I think Bernstein will be the best CB iowa has ever had, the kid as a freshman was tough and I know this injury sidelined him, i bet he makes a HUGE comeback next year!
I don't think I would say he was continually getting burnt on the underneath routes. He was a shut down corner, which is why nobody ever threw at him. He will definately go before the 6th or 7th round. I think that Bernstein will be good. Could he be better than Amari? sure. will he? I hope so, but to go out and say he could be the best Iowa has ever had without seeing him play substantially at CB is ludicrous.
Last year 08-09 he was brought in on goaline situations to man up on our opponents best WR. Why wouldn't spivey be that guy? Because he was not the lock down corner that everyone thought he was.
He has a big body and is a very good CB, but I don't think he is 1st day material. The guy never impressed me that much. I thought Jovon Johnson and Atwan Allen were MUCH better CB than Spivey.

I think we'll be fine... we would've been great with him, but w/o I think we'll be just fine...especially with Prater looking like a 1980's bad boy in the Orange Bowl.
Do you know nothing about Iowa's defense? He is suppose to give up undeneath stuff, the goal is to keep everything in front of you. He got beat against Penn state, because he was expecting safety help over the top and Sash got sucked in on the play action fake. How many more plays like that did you see happen after that one?

Put down the crack pipe! That stuff is no good! PLEASE PUT DOWN THE CRACK PIPE!
Yeah i do know iowa's defense, but seriously against NW both our DB got lit up! yeah giving up the underneath stuff is fine, but what about 3rd and 9 and he has a 10 yd cushion? Against OSU, majority of the runs were to his side, not saying they were his fault, but still i think if he was such a great corner, he would of been able to tackle one of those guys. When i hear of a lock-down corner, I think of guys such as Charles Woodsen, Deion Sanders. Amari is not even in the same ballpark as those guys. The only reason he is even getting looked at is because he has the size, that's it. If he was 5-9 or 5-10 scouts would not even look at him.
Your definition of lit up is different than mine. Kafka and Persia COMBINED for 15/27 for 109 passing yards 1 TD 1 INT.
