Last year I purchased a basketball game online stream through the U of Iowa official web site. It was a game that was not on Big Ten Network. It was a one time only purchase. Today I noticed a strange charge on my card for eight bucks and change. I didn't recognize it so I called the number. Evidently the site has been charging me eight bucks a month for the last year on a re-occurring membership fee. I can't ever recall signing up for this but I'm sure it was buried somewhere in the fine print. I know I'm a baddy for not noticing it earlier and that I deserve it to some degree for not being more thorough with my bank statements but honestly I'm kinda shocked that the UI would be affiliated with a group that would do something like this. I'm going to try and get a hold of someone in the AD or at Hawkeye Sports tomorrow but I'm not optimistic.

I guess the big lesson here is if you are going to watch UI sports online stream them illegally don't pay for them through the website.

Cyclones.Tv will do the same thing if you don't read the fine print. Had a buddy figure this out with the old CloneZone a couple of years ago. He didn't get a dime back because it does say its month to month if you don't cancel it. You will not win this one at least you are not a ton of money.

I dont get how you were ripped off by the UofI. I purchased the same game, read the agreement that stated if the subscription wasn't cancelled I would be charged monthly, and cancelled the service after the game. I know of at least three other people that did the same. You cant blame the UofI for you not reading what you agreed to by accepting the terms of use.

Please tell me it was the Campbell game that got you...

You Must let them know this is a one time purchase, and search for the cancel box. Sometimes that doesn't work. B1G does the same thing even if you let them know it is for one month only. They do usually credit your account. Always have to be careful in such situations......

I used the B1G service for the first Hawk basketball games last season, and it was very difficult to make work after paying. The games wouldn't start immediately. They couldn't find any information about the lsst season's purchase for one month, after I had paid using that account, and I had to use a different email and was charged twice for both emails. Plus they tried to charge me for a second month for both accounts after I had definitely indicated that it was for one month. I stay away from such services and can usually find a feed on the internet that is free for some reason.....

Let me guess your card got declined trying to buy a sixer to fill that prole cooler. You thought to yourself well shoot that aint right I had at least $8. hahahahaaha prole.

Hey hot-dog fingers, you shouldn't have stolen that cooler from the old lady.

whenever it comes to paying for online streams, i figure one of two things will happen. Either your credit card will get overcharged or the stream will not work.
Illegal streaming is the American way.

This happened to us as well. I think I knew I needed to call to cancel the subscription, but I forgot to do that. Well, come May the wife and I noticed that same reoccurring charge on the statement and had to call and cancel it.
