Listen to the pundits.

They are all talking about Iowa historically, as in they were a great program.

We have a lot to offer, ONLY BECAUSE OF OUR PAST. If it were not for the past, this would be one of the worst jobs in America.

We need someone who has wanted this job for as long as they can remember. Keno and Forbes certainly fit that bill.

We need someone who will embrace the fact that the past stars of Iowa basketball all want to help, and are the ONLY REMINDERS for what was once a glorious program.

Yes, when we are winning, we stand on our own two feet as an elite program. We are not that right now, and our hire needs to be someone who understands what Iowa is like when it is winning.

Forbes connection to the Iowa program is pretty tenuous. But that does not bother me. I want a guy who can produce,asap. If he is that guy,go for him.
Keno would not bother me either,but is he the best guy?
Tough call.
Buzz Williams,Reggie Theus,Craig Robinson,Tony Barbee...all guys who would not bother me.

Thr football team has honorary catains for every home game, why can't Iowa basketball do the same thing? Sure there are games during the week but there are former Hawks that would be willing or even give a pregame talk. If I were a coach I would sit the former Hawks behind the bench with the recruits and where the current players can see them. A kid like Gatens knows the past of Iowa basketbal very well. I would pumped to see Chris Street's family behind the bench. The history of the program is being leaned on very heavily at this point considering the last decade has been subpar and we have to look beyong that for the "good time" of Iowa basketball. Just thinking of having former Hawks in the crowd would excite some people if the university would promote it correctly.
