So was Hubbard the reason Iowa stopped recruiting Glover?

What we know about this is Glover said somebody else had committed to Iowa, and that Fran only expects to sign two players this fall. In Rob Howe's interview with Hubbard he said that he had already called McCaffery about committing to Iowa but didn't specify when he made the phone call. This is important, because if he called McCaffery after Glover had known, and announced, that he was no longer being recruited then there could be another player out there. My instinct makes me believe that Hubbard is the reason Iowa stopped recruiting Glover, but I'm wondering if there is still the chance there is someone else that lead to Iowa ceasing recruiting Glover.

I sure hope not. I'm excited to have Hubbard on the team, but IMHO we NEED someone who can play a legitimate point guard.

I will qualify my statement by saying that if Iowa can land Gibson and Olaseni I will be perfectly happy about not signing a PG at this time.

That's what I thought, but I couldn't find where I saw that at and wasn't sure if he had specified anywhere. But still this furthers my point that there could be another player committed to Iowa that we don't know about.

I wonder if he has another player verbally commit to him bearing that they pass their ACTs. Like possibly Miller or Stokes.

Glover mentioned the commit was someone "McCaffrey had personally recruited" and I think it is safe to say that McCaffrey is the only one capable of signing off on the recruitment of someone with a criminal history. No doubt there were multiple meetings with the powers that be at the U to ensure the proper vetting was done.

IMO, Hubbard probably talked to McCaffrey prior to the Glover visit to let him know which way he was leaning. Hard to believe McCaffrey would cancel Glover without being certain Hubbard was going to commit.

Fran is probably the only to sign off on the recruitment of any player. Just because he OK'd Hubbard doesn't mean he was personally recruiting him, nor does it mean that Hubbard is the only one that Fran was handling.
