Were out for most of the game and people are suprised we couldn't beat the team with the nations top defense? Where does reality fit in?

Iowa took the lead 14-10 after those two were out of the game.

MSU made halftime adjustments and Iowa didn't. That's what really happened. Oh yeah, MSU ran a fake punt that worked and that was like the final nail in the Iowa coffin.

KF's jock must smell like fresh baked cookies, cause plenty of people around here love to sniff it.

You do understand that they weren't in the game when we scored both touchdowns right? Try again.

Were they in during the 3rd quarter when we couldn't pick up a first down, put together a drive, or give our defense a rest?

Just curious.

Just because you're not optimistic about the remainder of the season, certainly doesn't mean you can come in and try to whiz on others who may be.

Dont forget our best Olineman was out for 1/2 the game as well. MSU beat us plain and simple, however its not the end of the world.

I think injuries played a role in this loss, but I believe Scherff was back in there after a series or two.

I just remember Donnal coming in and getting that clipping penalty. I didnt pay much attention in the last half of the 4th quarter.

sometimes I get confused about the direction of this program. Sometimes it seems its on its way back - improvement from last year, decent young QB, decent youth, next year looks to be better and the team has improved during 1st six game. Other times I see this program doomed to mediocrity with a ceiling of 8 wins and median saging below 7 wins

Injuries are a part of football. There is no excuse for a coach that is 14 seasons on the job to not have any depth. NONE!!!
Stop making excuses because they dont work for a person of KF's tenure. He knows how to run a BIG program after 14 seasons. The fact that he has no depth and no or little to no NFL players is on him.

Excuses: it's what's for dinner. For losers

Exactly 100% right. Excuses work for new employees or new parents or new almost anything. After 14 years on a job you have to take ownership for everything. There are no reasonable excuses for a 14 year veteran of anything.

Injuries affect virtually every team, every game. EVERY d-1 team has the same number of scholarships. If we do not have competent players to replace a couple injured ones, then that is on Ferentz, too. I tire of the injury excuses.

We failed in all 3 phases of the game and MSU is only good at one of those areas on the other side of the ball.

If we lost 6-3 and our offense was just overwhelmed by the defense but our D and our ST played great, id be with OP. However, their QB looked like Joe Montana and we all know what happened on special teams.
