Similarities between this years Michigan and last years GA Tech

Robinson looks to be faster than Nesbitt (although Nesbitt never really got going), and Robinson can actually throw the ball.

That being said, Robinson is Michigans entire offense. Stop him, win the game.

Both have quarterbacks who aren't tested much to throw the ball. Other than that, very few. GT allowed us to keep our base defense near the box...if we do that against Michigan, they will bubble screen us to death.

The spread set with a ridiculously talented QB is going to be a challenge. I just hope that the D staff gameplans to try to make him a passer...

Robinson is about as good as dead against the Iowa defense... name the last "gimmick offense" that has scored multiple TD's on Iowa? It will be ugly. I already feel sorry for Robinson if he thinks he can just run by that defensive line.

??? Gimmick offense? It's not like they are running the Lonesome Polecat up in Ann Arbor...it's a spread where the QB is a very integral part of the running game. They scored 4 TD's on us last year with 5 TO's...Robinson ran right down the field on us last year. While the DL will be important, I think the game could be won or lost based on the play of our LB core, getting off blocks and making SURE tackles.

Robinson also did that against an Iowa defense that had yet to see him on film; he was a totally unknown quantity. Now the Iowa defensive coaching staff is going to have a week where they can look at film and break him down, and then (obviously) another week to install the game plan.

If there is a defense that can shut him down, it's this one.

If they hadn't seen him on film, then they must have had the wrong film. He played in all the games, as far as I can remember, for Michigan up until that point, even if it was for just a few plays.

Looking at the box scores would bear that out; there were two games where he didn't get any snaps at all at QB, and a third game where he was 0-4. I don't want to make it sound like Robinson caught Iowa off guard, but it was very clear that the lions share of Iowa's preparation was for Tate Forcier.

This will be the first legit defense Robinson has to go up against. Hopefully Greg Jones and the rest of the MSU secondary can soften him up a bit.

Well he has been injured in two games so far and I think they've been in the last two weeks. At least I thought I remember seeing him go out today...

I thought he got quite a bit of run in last year's ND game, which is annually one of Michigan's first games, but I admit I wasn't too sure about the others. I just remember them saying they'd throw him in there randomly for a change of pace. Until I watched him run this year, I didn't realize how much of an (un)intentional pun that was...the guy can fly.

There are no similarities, entirely different style and schemes. Robinson is 95% of the offense, so if they can find a way to contain him it could really frustrate Michigan.

The two teams are totally different. GT is a run first offense and Michigan is a Run/Pass Offense which you really can't ever tell what they are going to do. Denard might drop back but be thinking run the whole time, he might drop back and see nothing and might run, he might do a play action pass and end up running it or he might pass or hand off the the RB. With his playing style it's hard to tell what he's going to do. I'm really worried about this game and glad Iowa has two weeks to rest and prepare also having Norm back is a very good thing!

Don't worry. That offensive genius is already curled up with Denard planning his strategy in terms that both can comprehend and understand.

Ummm. Respectfully disagree. Robinson will get his yards and points. Iowa just needs to not give up the huge long plays against him. It will be a huge challenge, but I think they're up for the challenge.

Iowa will also need to score more than four touchdowns, probably...
