Silas Redd just referred to paterno as "selfless".

His statement today and decision to retire at the end of the season was certainly a selfless act.

(sarcasm alert)

No, the BTN is doing a special on the psu scandal and they're interviewing current and former players and asking what they think of paterno's announcement today to retire @ season's end.
The current players are "reflecting on" their meeting with paterno today in the Lasch Football Complex...the very same complex where the infamous shower room is...and they're to a person giving rave reviews to paterno.
The thing that's bothering me is that Dave Revsine, normally very solid, is not pushing these guys to consider the victims. He's only asking them what they think of "coach joe pa".
To their credit, however, DiNardo and Chris Martin are speaking their mind and pretty much crushing paterno.

Yeah, since WE all know Paterno so well...

Give the former and current players a break. Sure, Martin and DiNardo are crushing him. That's why they're both in the media instead of holding real jobs.

Would they say it to JoePa's face?

How can any of these people actually stand up and defend him? Glad to know they do not care in the least that their coach allowed little boys to be molested through his inaction. He did not do the molesting, but he may as well have. Truly disgusting. I am sure that Joe used to give rousing halftime speeches about how everyone should get out there and do the absolute minimum that is required of them...

This is why 20 yr olds shouldn't be interviewed in a situation like this...and why they don't make the big decisions. No perspective, no understanding of the big picture, rarely able to see past themselves.
That's not a knock of those you out there who are young...we all were once. So resist the tempation to respond angrily. (lest you provide another example)

Everyone is so quick to jump on everyone even remotely connected to this. We read/hear the usual, "What if it was YOUR kid?!"

So I'll put it to you thusly:
What if Joe Paterno was your coach? Friend? Father?

Would you simply abandon him and erase any/all respect and/or love you previously held for him? If so, it says a lot more about YOU than it does about Paterno or any of his current or former players.

Arguing to argue huh?

To answer your question though, yes, that all goes out the window.

Since I feel that way I am now worse than a man who harbored an effing CHILD MOLESTER?!?

You are an absolute dolt.
