I still think the medical and student privacy issues were a big reason why Barta and Ferentz did not want to meet the press until sufficient facts were gathered and privacy laws reviewed.

As Coach Ferentz said in yesterday's press conference, "I'd encourage people to know the facts and know the people involved".

I think in this case, in dealing with sensitive issues, we need to trust Coach Ferentz and the Iowa administration when to hold a press conference. It would be foolish to call a conference in haste and make inaccurate comments or say something that breaks the law.

Folks said Ferentz hit a home run in the press conference yesterday. Could these folks have said the same a week ago? I think not.

People that would dig through medical records just to be able to leak some potentially damaging info to the press about the Iowa football program should be drawn-and-quartered.
 


Good to see that swift and appropriate action was taken. Unprofessional and Unethical behavior cannot be tolerated. What they did is inexcusable.

I totally agree.

It's noone's business what private medical records say except those qualified professionals who need the information for the good of the patient.

What really irks me is, some of the media was demanding the information NOW, and if they don't get it Ferentz is either hiding something or doesn't care about his players. Pure B.S.!!!

The media needs to back off and quit their unfounded accusations and wait until sensitive information can be safely and legally released, if it can be released.
