Man some of these games are rough. Officials losing control.

And I dont think this trend bodes well for the hawks except for Woodbury.

I see so much contact when players go up for a shot or rebound and no fouls are called.

Then they call the ticky tack or a very questionable travel or bump 30 feet from the basket.

I wish there was more emphasis on calling fouls early when a player gets beat to send the message and then call it tight because I hate seeing guys make great moves and then get totally bodied and miss a shot.

I felt like this a few times during the women's game today too.

Was the women's game a rough one and poorly called? I am glad they won and I need to get back to watching them like I did last year.

They are fun to watch and play some great offense

A few times it was poorly called with tick tack fouls being called. For the most part it was just very rough and a lot of it was not called. It was sure good to see that they played well enough to overcome the Miami dirty pool. That was a truly great performance be the Iowa team.

College BB officials have given a big FU to NCAA's emphasis on freedom of movement, hand checking, etc.

I still watch college basketball, but the direction of the game is not good. Attendance is down around the country and scoring continues to skid downward. The inconsistencies of the officiating is the most irritating factor. The interpretation of the rules has dramatically changed since 50 years ago. If carrying or palming the ball were called they way it once was many of the "ball handlers" would have about 10 turnovers every game.

I still love basketball more than any other game. However, i agree that the interpretation of the rules; e.g. lack of traveling calls being the most irritating, has ruined the game. I am so sick of watching guys take 3 steps and the announcers calling it a great move, or watching a big man in the pivot have about 3 pivot feet and nothing gets called, it's sickening. It's over and over, and frankly for me, has ruined a great game. It's all about running a guy over, jumping on his back for a rebound. The better athletes win, just the facts. Most times that is true anyway, but the way the game is now called, they almost can't lose.

I find myself watching less and less college BB each year. I watch every Hawk game, the NCAA games. Besides that I just don't care to watch mug and thug ball, soooooo boring. Unfortunately that is all the game is any longer.
