Should Hawk defense penetrate more or play normal read type defense?

The hawk defense is playing great but is not as stellar in getting turnovers as in past years. I ask this question because today might be a day to send some blitzers trying to get tackles for loss tfl against the run and get sacks and pressure on the young QB or Sindelar, whoever plays. Two years ago the defense handled Purdue in the first half and most of the game except for two long passes, long passes got the hawks last year plus Blough was just a good enough runner to make a few big plays with his feet.

I just hate to see the hawk defense play the less aggressive game on our side of the LOS and let the other team get comfortable on offense. I would like to see some passes under pressure and maybe a fumble or two in their backfield.

What is your choice, be more aggressive or play contain and control/bend but dont break????

I want the offense to score

Well that is true but maybe if the defense gives the offense a shorter field more often the offense can score more and score some TDs.

The hawk offense has been driving the ball. They got to the Mich 30 or so about 6 times and the defense did a really good job for the most part in the last 50 minutes of not letting Mich gain back field position.

I equate our offense to that scene in American Pie when the kid gets the hot girl in his room and she touches his leg and....well you guys know the rest :p

As always, we will sit back and let teams dictate. Too many good, exciting things happen when you blitz (TFLs, sacks, fumbles, forcing bad throws leading to INTs, etc). Besides, letting teams nickle and dime down the field helps bleed clock and shorten game. This helps KF and company to get the heck outta the stadium, their number one goal.

Hawks got some pressure on the QB with front 4 but still let them nickle and dime us and also hit two big long passes

I have said it since the first game AJE needs to do a better job at contain and not get so far up-field. He allows the runner to get under him so many times when it doesn't have to be that way. He has the speed and lateral agility to contain some guys but he takes himself out of the play way too often. I feel they would be better served by loping him around or obvious pass downs moving him inside so his rush can be more vertical.

As far as turnovers Moss dropped one he should have had and so did colbert. We get both of those we probably get two more field goals :)

Is our defense vanilla? Seems to be the flav-r-of-the-Ferentz's. I bet their icebox is chucked full of 'nilla
