I love Bob Sanders - one of my all time favorite Hawks - but the man was a living breathing instructional video of how NOT to tackle from a fundamentals standpoint. He brought the wood for sure - that's why I loved him - but he always led with his noggin and was pretty off & on with wrapping up. Big hitter...bad tackler.

I like Sanders a lot, but...
...Jack Tatum is in the Pro Football HOF. I believe most of these college awards are named for guys that are in the Pro Football HOF. Nothing against Bob, but he hasn't even played half of the games his teams have played since he came into the NFL. Tatum missed 14 games in 10 years and the only season he wasn't starting was his last one when he was with Houston.
If you are looking at what they did in the NFL as a barometer there is no comparison. If you are an Iowa fan trying to find a reason to pump up our guy, okay.

You are correct, smoot27. And so was another Iowa grad who is in the Pro Football HOF, Emlen Tunnell. And although Woodson isn't in the HOF (I guess one is named after him based upon the comment in the other post) he did win the Heisman Trophy.
None of the above takes away from Bob, but when people make statements that ellicit repsonses, sometimes the responses put Iowa fans in the position of being more critical of their guys that some would prefer to be.
