Short Yardage

Anyone else like to see Toren Young, the big back, come in for 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1...I love Wadley's ability to slither through holes...and get yardage when most won't...but lining Young back there and letting him hit the hole or what's there...he's going to get you a yard.

We struggled three or four times in short yardage yesterday...failing to convert. I'm not complaining, trust me...but watching this dude run, he runs low and he runs angry. I think he has the making of a great short yardage battering ram.

I'd rather see Young than Butler. Butler is good, but I think Young has more burst to him. Whatever happened to Toks Akinribade?

I see a lot of Jonathan Taylor potential in Toren Young. They both came out of high school at 5'11" and 215 lbs. Right now Taylor is still listed at 215, Young is listed at 220. So they're virtually the same size. They both seem to be explosive running backs who aren't shy when it comes to contact.

Taylor just had a perfect situation where Clement and Ogunbowale graduated and there was no lead back. Young probably would have been the #2 running back behind Wadley had Butler not transferred in. Coincidentally...Young played high school football in Madison, but didn't get a Badger offer

Either way, Toren has to be the front runner for starting RB next year. With IKM being the change of pace/speed back.

Toks is probably going to take a redshirt year, my guess. Unusual to play as a freshman, then redshirt.

Yes and I'd like to see Young play much more. I think Wadley needs more of a power back like Young to compliment his running style, get the tough 3 or 4 yards and soften up the defense.
