Shaq Stokes, God's Gift no longer have Iowa as choices

jeffborzello Jeff Borzello Uncommitted 2011 guard Shaq Stokes of Lincoln (N.Y.) said he is considering TCU, Colorado State, Western Kentucky and Hawaii.

JucoRecruiting Brad Winton God's Gift won't take anymore visits and will decide this week between St. John's, Washington and Cinci per his coach.

Thinking this means Hubbard was the reason Glover canceled his visit. So either Iowa will no longer sign anymore recruits or maybe Percy Gibson will commit. I've been talking directly to someone on twitter regarding college basketball recruiting who told me he has talked to Gibson and said he is "definitely interested" in Iowa and feeling is mutual with coaches BUT Gibson wouldn't offer anything more than that.

I'm thinking no more guards are going to sign and will use Hubbard as a backup PG when BC needs a breather. But still think we sign 1 more player. Can't imagine banking BOTH open scholarships.

I would be happy with Gibson and bank the last.

Actually, Fran said we'd most likely sign two. He didn't rule out three but it does seem unlikely.

Agreed.

Was GGA ever a legitimate possibility? I only remember seeing his name brought up as being available, never as having been contacted by or having any interest in Iowa. It's possible I missed it, however.

I was hoping HawkPhreak had chimed in on this thread, as in others he has expressed confidence there is "another" guard out there who could possibly be a silent commit. I didn't think we were interested in either of these dudes anyway, so not a huge loss IMO.

I am thinking Gibson would qualify as someone worthy of a third offer. It could be to our advantage to have a spot or two open heading into May and June, as a player might fall to us that normally wouldn't due to circumstances such as Gibson's.

Shaq Stokes never had the opportunity to come to Iowa.

I don't think Mr Gift ever showed any Iowa interest.
