I'll get over it eventually and be sorta proud. I'm still pissed off at the play calling in the first half though. Calling running plays when penn state is bringing 8 dudes vs Wadley is just terrible.
Crazy talk: Iowa won't win out, but if that somehow ends up being Iowa's only loss on the season how can you really say they don't deserve to be in the CFP

Neither.
Field position nearly entire first half sucked.
When field position was decent tried to establish Wadley. Couldn't.
Adjustments after half were meh. Young QB and WRs couldn't take advantage of numerous opportunities. We knew that would happen.
But Iowa was ahead right up until 0:00 hit the board. Hard to rant about that.

i'll cheer the defense for surviving for 100 plays against saquon barkley. i'll rant against the stupid and, at times, inept play calling. We gave away almost the entire 1st half because we, apparently, felt wadley could go 1 on 11.

Can't complain this was likely going to be a bad loss. Hell of an effort. I can't believe we praise the defense after giving up nearly 600 yards but they put us in a position to win multiple times. Stanley shows tremendous potential. I wish we had an easier schedule the rest of the way though.

This game only proved 1 thing. Exactly as I thought. PSU= Barkley. PSU is a good team with an exceptional player and therefore a great team. Even Franklin knew. It was all Barkley all night or it was a long as bus ride home with a L. I don't know who Penn St plays all year that will hold them to 21 points. Maybe Michigan, but still probably not. We had them on the ropes all considered and we lost a heartbreaker, but I at least take solace in the fact that we actually helped our brand and national recognition.

That said, Barkley is a freak and PSU will go as far as he takes them. He had a monster game but took a beating, itll be interesting if he can hold up all year. Without him PSU is still pretty good, with him their a legit top 5 team.
Next Saturday is enormous. We have the pieces for a pretty damned good season if we improve and learn from this, the opposite if the team is flat. Man I hope the players can flush this one.

If the hawks play pretty much the same on defense and BF opens up the offense we should beat MSU.
The hawks lost a tough one on against PSU but if they can steal one or two on the road that will make the season I think.

I saw Iowa seeking to diversify its offense, throwing, but how many passes were dropped or the ball was poorly thrown in the 1st 3 possessions ? A Lot !
The effort to make PSU pay was there, but Iowa did not execute.
I think a team with a more experienced QB and a decent run game would have moved the ball better....now I don't know if that team will also turn in the same performance on D as Iowa did.
And for THAT REASON.... this was not some epic matchup betwee two titans. PSU is not legit top 5. Sorry.
A reasonably mature offense would have changed the entire complexion of this game. Lots of top 10 teams have that and could have beaten PSU

I'm not sold on alot of teams beating PSU. Are they a titan? No, but they do have arguably one of the greatest offensive players of the decade if not all time. I don't see how anyone other than Clemson or Bama are going to stop that kid. I think PSU will use him sparingly in the easy games and ride him like a plow horse in tough games like Iowa. I have said it before, PSU is a good team without Barkley so they are great with him. Can they be beaten....? Sure, but man I don't think anyone in the B1G stands much of a chance.
