Every senior day certainly brings on a mix of emotions, no matter how the season goes. We have a group of seniors that poured blood, sweat, and tears into the University of Iowa for 4-5 years. As tough as losses are for fans, imagine how hard for these players. Anyone that saw Clayborn after the WI loss knows how much is invested by this team.

Personally I have become a huge fan of many of these guy for a variety of reasons....no doubt many will be missed. Will be odd not seeing Stanzi, DJK, AC, etc not in the black and gold next season. Below is a list of the seniors from hawkeyesports, so hopefully i captured all.

My gut tells me Iowa is going to win this one........It will frustrate a lot of fans and make them wonder why couldn't they do this all year.....But what you say about the players is spot on.

However frustrating yesterday was, these are the guys who are responsible for leading us back from the abyss of the '05-'07 stretch.

Think back to October 2008. Iowa had lost three games in a row and was .500 over the last three and a half seasons. People are throwing around words like "mediocrity" now... that stretch was the definition of mediocre. We had gone from three straight top-10 seasons to hoping for bowl eligibility. The plane was crashing into the mountain.

Since that point (October 11, 2008), these guys are 23-6. We all wish we would have won a couple more of those games-- and in fact, we were in position to win all of them. But let's not underestimate the importance of this team, led in large part by this senior class, turning things around. Yesterday sucked, but that stretch from 2005 to the first part of '08 was horrifying.

OUTSTANDING POST!

I'm pretty optimistic for next year. We don't lose much on the Offense that can't easily be replaced. The Defensive Line losses are the biggest challenges
