True. Pretty sure I picked us to go to the Final 4 in '06. We had a great draw. Then Alford did what he does best, slowly ****** away a 15 point 2nd half lead.

It's been a little fun with UNI and Drake making it in recent years, but it's nothing like it used to be that's for sure.

It used to be one of my favorite days of the year...and the madness of march one of my favorite three weeks of the year. Now, it's still enjoyable to watch, but the last decade or so has sucked my fandom for this sport right out of me. At the end of the day Thursday I will have watched more combined college hoops, non Iowa or ISU related, than I have the entire season combined.

Why are we lumping Alford into this...'06 was f'n awesome leading up to the tournament. I was at that BTT and that was as much as I've ever enjoyed a sporting event.

Beyond that he had some postseason excitement surrounding this program most of the years he was here.
