The South is a strange place.

LSU's aren't as bad, but they're still of the non-traditional variety.

They're meant for light contact, such as wrap up and no take down. As you can see from the picture with the lineman there are pockets in the shorts that are suppose to contain thigh pads and hip pads but no knee pads.
 
LSU's weren't bad. Not traditional, but there's nothing really wrong with them, either. Sometimes players do prefer to wear compression gear, rather than shorts and t-shirts. A lot of NFL players will wear just the full-length tights for non-contact drills.

I don't know what's more ghey: the shorts those dudes are wearing, or you dudes discussing them in such detail.
