Season's Over: Now What?

Since I don't really give a crap whether Iowa goes to the Music City Bowl over the Foster Farms Bowl, the meaningful football season ended today. This is probably a seven-win team at best. The only thing that can be accomplished this year is getting all of the kids meaningful reps (and this MUST include Stanley at QB...CJB has not earned the right to be a sole starter by his play), and keeping the recruiting class from imploding, which may be impossible.

Then again, KF is getting his $4.5M a year for the next eight, so none of this will happen. Eat at Arby's, everyone.

Now what? Same as always. Try to win games. Iowa is always recruiting against the likes of Wisconsin, Minnesota, & Nebraska. Need to find a way to win one of those games. Their team lacks talent. Nothing Iowa can do about that this season but they need to show up, play hard, and win a few games so recruits don't bail.

Anyone make tee shirts? If a nations flag is hung upside down it is a symbol of a country in distress. All Iowa flags should now be hung upside down. A new shirt should a merge with the Iowa logo or "IOWA" upside down. If you want you could add the phrase "Well that's football" on the shirt.

And Basketball, and Wrestling, etc. . . All we need now is NCAA sanctions and Barta's journey to being the worst AD in college will be complete.

What's next you ask?

I agree that the season is over. We needed to go on a tear after the North Dakota loss and rip conference foes game by game. We needed to do this to get some pride and swagger back into the program. We barely beat a hapless Rutgers team that got shredded today by a legit football program.

We are not effing Iowa State and sit around hoping for 7-5 season every year. That mindset is for losers.

This program has become a mean joke and an embarrassment. We get a extremely weak schedule last year and slop through close games and would have lost some if not for a lucky bounce here or there. It gets us in consideration for the playoff system so that the ENTIRE college football nation has their eyes on us. Some were even giving us the benefit of the doubt after the Rosebowl by saying terrible games can happen even to the best teams. They put us in the top twenty-five thinking just that. That Iowa is really good and that it was a fluke game in the Rosebowl. Now they know the truth.

"Dear God, why did you play this mean joke on us Iowa fans?"
